Bunker Hills Golf Course Wedding Photography with Kim & Dan
Kim and Dan’s wedding day was gorgeous and sunny. Bunker Hills Golf Course was perfect for their style, with its Northwoods lodge atmosphere and ballroom with large windows overlooking the green framed by a stand of pines. These two love the outdoors, including going up north and spending time together fishing. Little details at the wedding proclaim that Kim is Dan’s greatest catch. When you spend enough time with these two you learn that their love is deep and beautiful as a crystal blue lake.

Outdoor Wedding First Look at Bunker Hills
Kim and Dan decided they wanted to do the wedding party and family portraits before their ceremony, so we started with the first look in front of the ceremony arch. Kim gave Dan the gift of Vikings tickets and a new t-shirt to wear to the game. The bridesmaid’s sunglasses were a fun element to include in pictures and also showed the playful sense of humor the couple brings with them into their marriage.
After the first look, we headed out onto the Bunker Hills Golf Course green to enjoy the sparkling blue ponds and shady groves of towering willows.

Outdoor wedding ceremony at Bunker Hills Golf Course
The trees behind the ceremony site were all green the first time Kim, Dan and I walked through their venue a few weeks before their wedding. Kim told me she hoped they got a little fall color. A few cool September nights and sunny days later her wish came true. Kim walked down the aisle with a smile on her face under the blue sky, surrounded by turning leaves. The sun hitting the trees at the ceremony site illuminated the first hints of yellow and orange foliage. The couple celebrated their outdoor wedding ceremony surrounded by the people and the atmosphere they love the most.

Wedding Reception photography in the Bunk Hills Event Center Ballroom.
The ballroom at Bunker Hills Event Center is full of glorious natural light during the late afternoon. It streams in through the large picture windows and gives everything an ethereal glow. It’s the perfect opportunity to make artistic images of what it feels like to come inside and get ready for the reception.

Sunset Wedding Pictures at Bunker Hills Golf Course
After a wonderful dinner and speeches, Kim and Dan had the opportunity to step away from the reception for a while and enjoy some quiet time during the hazy sunset on the back green. After dark, their reception turned into a huge rocking party, with an amazing bouquet toss and music to get everyone on the dance floor. I found lots of opportunities to bring out my off-camera flashes and play with creative lighting, both inside the reception and for a few quick shots outside in front of the beautifully lit trees. Dan couldn’t help but dip Kim and give her another kiss towards the end of the night. On your wedding day, you can never have too many kisses.
