Gina+ Jeremy’s Carousell Works Wedding Photography
This Carousell Works wedding photography included lots of laughter and plenty of pictures with Gina’s beautifully orchestrated details. Also, our portraits on the dock at Big Lake during the early November sunset and blue hour are classically Minnesotan. We started the day at Advanced Styling in Big Lake, where Shanna helped Gina set a sparkling crown in her hair.

We then traveled to Carousell Works where the finishing touches were put on the ballroom as Jeremy patiently waited for the ceremony to being, and Gina dressed. I love the windows in the dining room. All though I use a number of speed lights at weddings, having natural light from big windows in a space makes it feel open and inviting. In the winter it’s fun to look outside at the snow too, it makes the indoors feel nice and cozy.

Wedding Ceremony at the Carousell Works.
The ceremony took place in front of the Carousell Works fireplace. The ceremony room was decorated for the holiday season with lights and pine garland, and another big picture window behind to see more beautiful winter snow.

After the ceremony we quickly went over to Big Lake for portraits during sunset and blue hour. Blue hour sounds a little complicated, but it’s really just twilight. The sun is below the horizon, but there’s enough light left for portraits. On cloudless and crisp winter days this blue hour light is more perfect than the golden hour. If you have good weather for your winter wedding I recommend blue hour pictures. It will be a little chilly, but worth it.

A Cozy Winter Reception at Carousell Works Big Lake
After portraits it was back to the reception at Carousell Works, where we toasted and were treated to live music from Tami and the Bachelor, one of Gina and Jeremy’s favorite bands. The placement of string lights and the neutral cream walls in the ballroom at Carousell Works made this reception feel warm and cozy like sitting in front of a fireplace. The room is spacious, but not drafty, and will keep guests comfortable even on the coldest winter days. All in all this winter wedding was fantastic, and full of love.

Thank you to all the vendors who came together and worked on this November wedding to create a beautiful celebration.
