| Jackson’s Como Park Senior Portraits |
I can’t get enough of Como Park Senior Portraits. There are endless ways to be creative and create a beautiful mood with pictures around this big St. Paul park and inside the conservatory.
On a chilly November day with a little atmospheric fog Jackson, his mom and I had a fun afternoon enjoying the unique Minnesota weather and architecture of the conservatory. I learned that Jackson is artistic, forward-thinking a little bit of a rebel, and wanted to capture all that emotion in portraits. I couldn’t help but feel he reminded me a little of my teenager too. I think it’s important for teens to feel like their senior portraits represent them.
Senior Portraits with interesting architecture
Doing portraits at locations that resonate and mean something to the senior personally is one of my must-haves for senior pictures. Jackson liked the architectural details and geometric shape of Marjorie McNeely Conservatory as a backdrop for his senior portraits in Como Park. His parents were married at the conservatory too, so it’s adding to their family history to have another set of pictures inside the building.
I’m always excited to revisit a location I shoot at often and start to see it in a new perspective that aligns with your vision for portraits. It was incredible how the foggy day brought out different color tones in the conservatory glass, and gave a certain mood to the light that fits so well with Jackson’s gray and blue wardrobe. Not every senior is excited to pick out photoshoot outfits and get in front of the camera. I find that when you seek out spots you adore for senior pictures it becomes easy to let yourself be in the moment during the session.
I’m a lifestyle portrait and wedding photographer south of the St. Paul and Minneapolis area in Belle Plaine. I travel in Minnesota for unique and personal portraits.
