How soon should we book you?
Weddings- As soon as you know you’re ready. Your wedding date should also be 100% confirmed. This can be 18 months before the wedding or even 1 month before. I am able to book weekday weddings and can take last minute bookings in the Twin Cities.
How do we book?
To book your wedding contact me so we can have a conversation about your plans. Then a non-refundable retainer and signed online wedding agreement are needed to hold your date.
What is your style?
People who work with me describe their pictures as a mix of modern portraits, and documentary photography, with attention to your personal details. I want to tell the complete story of your wedding day, including portraits, your ceremony, and really great reception shots celebrating your marriage. This style flows over into my portrait sessions too. Portraits are meant to be natural and look a little bit “unposed”.
What if it rains, snows, is too bright or too dark during my wedding?
I will have solutions, like an umbrella, a certain lens or light, a plan B (and C, and D!) and encouraging words to help you in front of the camera. I enjoy the variety of opportunities for creative solutions at weddings.
Do you travel?
Yes! Travel within Minneapolis, St. Paul, Stillwater, St. Cloud, and Mankato areas is included for all weddings. Travel within the Twin Cities Metro and Belle Plaine area is included for portraits. I’m also happy to take a trip to the North Shore, or travel to you anywhere in the continental United States.
Do You Edit Our Photos?
I will edit your photographs before I deliver them to you. This includes choosing which shot are the best at telling your story, exposure & color correction, some black and white pictures, and light skin softening if needed.
How many pictures do we get?
My goal is to create a collection of photographs that tell the story of your wedding day. The number of pictures you receive will depend on how long I’m shooting and what kinds of events and portraits we capture during the wedding.
Will you do our engagement shoot?
If you want me to, yes! Most weddings packages include a pre-wedding shoot. If you need engagement pictures, we will do those. If you already have engagement pictures we can do a short shoot so you can experience working with me.
How experienced are you?
I have almost 10 years experience as a professional photographer. Since mid-2012 I’ve been a full-time photography business owner. Before that, I worked in a corporate studio. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. If your location requests proof of insurance I’m happy to send it.
Can we print our photos?
Yes. Please print your photos! I give you a full release to print your pictures. Files are high resolution, with no watermarks. Your online gallery is designed to be shared. Your relatives and friends can also print pictures when you invite them to your gallery. You are able to order professional prints directly from your gallery.
When will we get our photos back?
Weddings are delivered in 8-10 weeks. Engagements and portraits take 2-3 weeks. I take time to look at each individual photo when I edit and want to make sure you receive the very best edits on your pictures.
Do You Have Options for Save The Dates?
Yes. You can order Save The Dates, with envelopes included, after your engagement shoot.
How does album design work?
Albums and photo books are available for both weddings and portraits. The time it takes from starting the design to delivering your finished album depends on how many edits you do. Once the album is sent to print you’ll receive it in 1-2 weeks.
Can we see your wedding photography timeline?
Every wedding is different, and I follow your schedule. Together we will plan how your photography fits into your wedding day. I will ask you lots of questions to get a feel for the flow of your day so we’re all prepared for the photography. We’ll have a final planning meeting about 1 month before your wedding.
Will you plan our wedding?
I devote personal time to every couple I work with including phone calls, in-person meetings and emails whenever you need them. We plan for your wedding photography because that’s what I’m best at. I can give you advice, vendor suggestions, and examples of what has worked for couples with similar weddings. On the day of your wedding, I will do everything I can to make sure you have an amazing experience. However, if you feel you need someone to plan and coordinate your entire wedding I can help you connect with some excellent wedding planners.
