If you’ve landed on this page and you’re a photographer, chances are you’re looking for inspiration.

Let me ask you:  Are you where you want to be in your photography business?

When we’re not making or meeting our own goals, it’s easy to sit on the sidelines watching everyone else move forward.   You’re scrolling through social media, wishing you had something to post, wishing you could be like every other photographer you see. You end up spending precious time focusing on everyone else’s business when you should be taking care of your own.  Suddenly an hour or two has passed, and you have nothing to show for your time but an empty longing to be better.

So how do we get better at our craft?

Take your wants, your aspirations, all those feeling you have about other photographers’ works and write them down.  Take these things and turn them into your own goals and creations.  Start a personal project, update your portfolio, go back through your website and fix what’s frustrating you.  Create a list of  actions you can take to get where you want to be.  Focus on what you’re proud of and what makes you unique.  Focus on the clients you have and what makes them amazing.

After you brainstorm like this, make a plan to start getting inspired by your OWN work, not someone else’s.  Set out not to copy everyone else, but to create from your heart.  Take the time to create something that is authentically you.  Then be proud of it, and share the heck out of it, and use it to help build up your own business.

There are tons of photographers out there, but no one else that can do photography like you.  That is what you need to communicate through everything you create.
