Heritage Center wedding reception in November

Greg and Jay reached out to me on Zola a few weeks before their wedding. They needed a new wedding photographer and I was available for their last-minute request. It was by far one of the happiest coincidences ever because the same day they contacted me I’d been thinking about all the venues I wanted to visit in the coming wedding season. Theirs was on my bucket list. More importantly, Greg and Jay were just the kind of couple I love photographing. I love how they were so easygoing about their photography and happy to get creative with portraits.

But first: An intimate marriage ceremony at the APT. Minneapolis

Greg and Jay spilt their wedding celebration into two parts. The first was a weeknight marriage ceremony followed by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Before the ceremony, I met them at the Hewing Hotel for group pictures with the wedding party. We took advantage of the Hewing’s beautiful skyline views for romantic portraits on the rooftop.

Their ceremony took place at a cozy little Minneapolis wedding Venue: The APT Event Space. It had a cozy feeling like a home away from home that was perfect for this wedding ceremony.

Fall Wedding Portraits at the Heritage Center

The Brooklyn Center Heritage Center is a beautiful place for portraits near Minneapolis at any time of year. Sunset is my favorite time for wedding pictures, especially in the late fall. There’s something about the crisp November air and glow of the sunset that gives fall wedding portraits a distinctive look.

Candid Wedding Pictures for your Heritage Center Wedding

When planning for photography I always like to ask couples what they want to take with them from their wedding. For Greg and Jay, it was feeling and emotion. Candid pictures. They wanted to capture the atmosphere of their reception. All their joy and love for each other and their guests.

Candid wedding pictures are infinitely important because a wedding reception exists so that you can celebrate with all the people who support your marriage. And you need a record of that celebration. They’re also very fun to capture because they are as real as it gets during the wedding day.

These are a few favorites from all the candid wedding pictures.

A big party for your Heritage Center wedding reception

This wedding reception at the Heritage Center was one big awesome party! The couple and many of their guests were veterans of the entertainment and service industries. In fact, bartending is how Greg and Jay met, so it was natural to weave all their love for excellent food, drinks, and music into their reception. I had so much fun photographing their wedding reception, and am forever thankful that this couple invited me to share in their marriage celebration.
