The above photograph is from Jordan and Lindsey’s wedding.  The set up and staging of the cupcakes was done by Lindsey with help from her family and friends on her wedding day.  She purchased her cake topper online.  She did not bake the cake or the cupcakes, she left that to a professional.

I’m using this photograph as a DIY example because Lindsey was an amazing bride that did many of the wedding details herself, and was able to accomplish them without letting the stress of DIY impact her enjoyment of her wedding day.  However, she also knew how much she could handle, and she could not handle baking the cupcakes herself.

Searching for DIY wedding cupcakes on Pinterest or Google will certainly show you dozens of brides who’ve spent hours baking their wedding cakes and cupcakes.  That doesn’t mean you have to do it if you don’t enjoy it.

My number one rule for DIY weddings:  Do what you are good at, passionate about, and what is enjoyable for you.  Ultimately this will personalize your day much more than attempting to DIY every single thing.
