I am in love with this Super Mario styled wedding inspiration shoot!  I’m always looking for new and unique wedding venues and vendors, and this shoot brought them together.  It’s colorful, it’s whimsical and it’s definitely a little geek.

Venue: Can Can Wonderland, St. Paul, Minnesota

Wedding and Event Planners: W00t Weddings

I have a big commitment to being real on my blog and in my business.  One huge rule I have for styled shoots is that we keep things attainable for the average couple.  We combined a bit of engagement shoot wardrobe inspiration with some incredible details that make for a perfect little engagement date night, or could translate well into an entire Mario theme head table at your wedding.

We started out having a little fun with one of Can Can Wonderland’s yummy milkshakes, and their Boardwalk Arcade.  Xandra and Rumeal are the real couple we picked for the shoot, and they decided since they like to dance together they would have a little dance right there in the middle of the boardwalk under the disco ball.

Next we moved over to Can Can’s Indeed Stage for a little place setting inspiration.  W00T Weddings hand painted some amazing wine glasses based on the plants from Super Mario, and made a matching plant table piece.  This is probably the most difficult DIY of the whole shoot, because you do need to have some painting and sewing skills to pull it off, or find enlist the help of a crafty friend.  W00t Weddings also helps their clients craft DIY’s.

In addition they also created a fire flower boutonnière and power up mushrooms from craft felt, which would be very easy for anyone to replicate.

The best part about Can Can Wonderland is you have a variety of places to get pictures in, both inside the building and around it.  The venue is a huge supporter of the local arts scene from their artistic designed mini golf to murals and seasonal details.   The entire building is full of textures and colors that make for a very artistic indoor winter wedding location.

We stopped at the mini golf green.  We ended the shoot in the hall with a little more dancing in front of the rainbow pipes, because if you’re having a Super Mario moment, you have to go all the way and find pipes!

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  If this shoot has inspired you, we should chat about your wedding or engagement portrait goals.
