Kim & Benjamin’s wedding photography in Belle Plaine Mn at Rubies and Rust Barn.
I love doing wedding photography in Belle Plaine because it’s my home. My beautiful little southern Minnesota town is a quiet oasis nestled in the farm fields along the Minnesota River. At Rubies and Rust, you’re surrounded by rustic elegance.
The Vintage decor in the farmhouse makes for gorgeous pictures while you get ready. Cathedral-like ceilings in the barn are perfect for couples seeking a unique wedding venue to host their guests. The barn is located halfway between Minneapolis and Mankato, so it’s easy for your guests to travel to your wedding in Belle Plaine.
The weather for this wedding was a little surprising because the day began with rain and sleet, not always typical for early October. We did all the portraits inside the farmhouse and barn. At this venue, you’ll have lovely portraits in a variety of locations even when you stay inside. There are opportunities for bright natural lighting in your pictures as well as enhancing your photography with an off-camera flash or more dramatic window lighting too.
What I love most about this wedding is the joy I was surrounded by all day long. Kim and Benjamin had a great time with all their guests and designed this as a day for them to join together in celebration.

Indoor ceremony at Rubies and Rust wedding barn
October in Minnesota is a great month to have your wedding if you love cooler weather. Kim and Benjamin had their ceremony and reception inside the barn. The guests were treated to a fantastic display of fall mums running down the ceremony aisle. The couple said their vows in front of the lovely ceiling to floor barn windows surrounded by candles and vintage chandeliers.

A big dance party at your Belle Plaine barn wedding
Another thing about Rubies and Rust I love is the amount of space in the upper barn. It’s great for couples who want a generous dance floor at their reception. It’s very memorable for your guests to enjoy a reception of warm comfort food on a chilly October evening and then celebrate your marriage with yummy after-dinner cupcakes and drinks while dancing the night away. Comfort and fun with their guests were very important to Kim and Benjamin at their wedding, and their entire wedding team delivered all these things to them in the best way.
